Day 1: Arrival in Moshi – Mountain Dreams Begin

Your African adventure begins the moment you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Our representative greets you with warm smiles and transfers you to your comfortable hotel in Moshi. Settle into your room with stunning mountain views, then join us for a comprehensive trek briefing. Our head guide will review equipment, answer questions, and ensure you’re perfectly prepared for the days ahead. Enjoy a delicious dinner while watching the sunset paint Kilimanjaro’s peaks in golden hues.

After breakfast, we drive to Machame Gate, buzzing with excitement and anticipation. Your trek begins through enchanting rainforest trails, where sunlight filters through dense canopy and monkey calls echo through the trees. The well-graded path gradually ascends through this biological wonderland. Reach Machame Camp as evening approaches, where your team welcomes you with warm drinks and a nutritious dinner under the stars.

Awaken to steaming coffee and panoramic views as you emerge above the clouds. Today’s shorter trek takes you through magical moorland filled with giant heathers and otherworldly lobelia plants. The landscape transforms dramatically as you ascend to Shira Plateau, one of Kilimanjaro’s highest plateaus. Arrive at Shira Camp with breathtaking views of Kibo Peak glowing in the afternoon light – the perfect backdrop for your afternoon acclimatization walk.

Trekking: 6-8 hours • Distance: 10 km • Altitude: 3,750m to 3,900m

Critical Acclimatization Day! Today features our “climb high, sleep low” strategy. Trek eastward across the alpine desert toward Lava Tower (4,640m), where you’ll enjoy lunch with incredible views. This high-point exposure is crucial for your body’s adaptation. Afterward, descend through stunning valleys to Barranco Camp, nestled beneath the imposing Barranco Wall. The dramatic temperature changes and altitude variations today significantly enhance your acclimatization process.

Trekking: 4-5 hours • Distance: 5 km • Altitude: 3,900m to 3,995m

Today brings one of the most exciting sections – the Barranco Wall! Though it looks intimidating, it’s an enjoyable scramble that will get your adrenaline pumping. Your guides will assist every step of the way, showing you the best handholds and routes. From the top, enjoy spectacular views of the southern glaciers before traversing through scenic valleys to Karanga Valley Camp. This shorter day ensures you’re well-rested for summit night.

Summit Push: 6-8 hours • Descent: 4-6 hours • Distance: 17 km • Altitude: 3,995m to 5,895m

The Day You’ll Never Forget! Begin your historic ascent under a spectacular blanket of stars. Trek pole pole (slowly slowly) up the steep scree slopes, following the trail of twinkling headlamps. Reach Stella Point as the sun begins to paint the horizon in brilliant colors. Then make the unforgettable final walk along the crater rim to UHURU PEAK (5,895m) – the Roof of Africa! Celebrate your incredible achievement with photos and memories that will last a lifetime before descending to Mweka Camp.

Your final descent through lush rainforest feels like a victory march. Receive your official certificate at Mweka Gate, emotional farewells with your incredible crew, and transfer back to your hotel.
