Drive through coffee plantations to Londorossi Gate. Begin your adventure trekking through dense, misty rainforest alive with monkeys and exotic birds. Reach Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp, your first wilderness home.
• Trekking: 3-4 hours | Distance: 7 km | Altitude: 2,250m to 2,650m

• Trekking: 5-6 hours | Distance: 8 km | Altitude: 2,650m to 3,610m

Critical Acclimatization Day! Trek east across the plateau toward the dramatic Lava Tower (4,640 m). This “climb high, sleep low” strategy is key to your success. Descend through stunning valleys to the spectacular Barranco Camp beneath the famous Barranco Wall.

• Trekking: 6-7 hours | Distance: 10 km | Altitude: 3,610m to 3,960m

Tackle the imposing Barranco Wall—more of a thrilling scramble than a technical climb! Enjoy spectacular views from the top before traversing through scenic valleys to Karanga Camp, your final water point before the summit.

• Trekking: 4-5 hours | Distance: 5 km | Altitude: 3,960m to 4,035m

A shorter trek to Barafu Camp (Swahili for “Ice”) on the edge of the summit cone. Rest, hydrate, and prepare your gear during the afternoon. Early dinner followed by crucial rest before your midnight summit push.

• Trekking: 3-4 hours | Distance: 4 km | Altitude: 4,035m to 4,673m

The Day You’ll Never Forget! Begin at midnight under a canopy of stars. Trek pole pole (slowly slowly) up steep slopes to Stella Point for sunrise over the crater rim. Then the magical final ascent to UHURU PEAK (5,895m) – the Roof of Africa! Celebrate your incredible achievement before descending to Mweka Camp.

• Summit Push: 6-7 hours | Descent: 4-6 hours | Distance: 17 km

Final descent through lush rainforest to Mweka Gate. Receive your official certificate, celebrate with your crew, and transfer to your hotel for well-earned hot showers and comfortable beds.
• Trekking: 4-5 hours | Distance: 10 km | Altitude: 3,100m to 1,640m

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and share triumphant stories with fellow trekkers. Transfer to the airport, or continue your adventure with a wildlife safari or Zanzibar beach extension.
